Holly Beaumont-Wilkes Associate
Holly joined Work in Progress as Administrator and Project Coordinator in November 2013. Her main role was to look after the Mystery Tour heritage programme. She now works with WiP as an associate.
Holly graduated from Keele University in 2011 with a degree in History & English. She also has a Gold Arts Award.
Interesting fact: I am a qualified scuba diver and it is my dream to dive in as many countries as possible :).
Gary Bourbage Associate
Gary is a qualified Arts Award Advisor and has been working with WiP in various roles since 2010, most notably on ‘After the Event’ outdoor theatre piece and delivery of Arts Award.
He has a National Diploma in Performing Arts and LAMDA Grades and has been performing since 2007.
Interesting Fact: Gary has had a pet Cat every single day of his life, and currently owns 5; Amelle, Fredrick, Pebbles, Molly and Lana.
Jenny Duffin Associate
Jenny is a freelance Arts Producer working mainly in events and project management, largely within visual arts but also with multi-disciplinary work. She’s a big believer in making the arts inclusive, approachable and accessible and thrives off a new challenge!
Jenny started working with Work in Progress as part of the team helping to organise the Library Takeover Day 2015. She co-supervised a youth steering group alongside Vicki and will be event managing the event day itself including a mystery trail around the 10 floor building!
Emma Thompson Associate
Emma is a trained theatre designer with a background in fine art painting. She specializes in scenic design and painting alongside costume and prop construction. Much of Emma’s career has been working with children and young people in both theatre productions and art workshops.
Emma loves to cook, travel, watch old films and listen to jazz music.
Kayleigh Ditchburn Associate
WiP History: First participated with WiP at The Drum as a volunteer, helping out at the Arts Award and Arts & Crafts workshops in 2015 and then again at the WiP Library Takeover day in the sensory room, doing arts and crafts.
Me: I have a degree in Architectural Venue Design & Digital Innovation, and a background in Interior Design. I recently set up a business (KDesignz) as a visual artist and designer, whose primary goal is encourage wellbeing, build confidence and help positive socialising through creativity.
Coming on Board: As of 2016 I will be coming on board with WiP as an associate.
Fact: Middle name was from the ‘Mother Goose’ song… ‘Tuesday’s child is full of Grace’. (Middle name is Grace & I was born on a Tuesday)
Ahlam Abdulaziz Associate
Ahlam Abdulaziz, has a degree in BA Production for Live Events and Television from the University of the Arts London. She has always been passionate about anything within the creative arts field.
Interesting Fact- Ahlam went scuba diving in Marmaris, Turkey for the first time in September 2015
Mica Elliott Associate
Mica has gained a tremendous amount of experience as a creative artistic director and has collaborated with a number of companies within the arts industry such as the Birmingham School of Acting, The Grove Theatre and the Birmingham Repertory Theatre . In 2013 she graduated from the University of Bedfordshire with a BA Honors degree in Media Performance. Since leaving university she has had professional experience in television, film and theatre.
Interesting facts– Mica has an identical twin sister called Sade who is 6 minutes older. Mica is a national championship dancer in hip-hop, contemporary, disco, freestyle, Jazz & lyrical. Mica is also ambidextrous but prefers her left hand to her right.
Ariya Amin Associate
Coming to the end of her Master’s degree in Drama and Theatre Education at the University of Warwick, Ariya aims to begin a career with each foot planted firmly within the arts and education. Having completed a Bachelor of Science in Primary and Secondary Education, specialising in Computer Science from Newman University, Ariya walked away from her three-year undergraduate degree with QTS. After a year teaching in Primary Education, Ariya returned to University to seek a position within the Arts through the form of drama. After a 6 month internship with WiP, Ariya gained a Gold Arts Award and has since trained to become an advisor for levels Bronze and Silver.
Interesting fact: In 2014 Ariya was titled a Slam Poet Champion, winning first place in the Oxjam Brum Poetry Slam.
